I can understand your reasons completely.
We always suggest to every STEPS8000 biker that he/she should buy a PCE1 interface, no matter if they use eMax or not.
We believe that this interface is the best tool you could have to do some self diagnosis of your bike, because most bike dealers are not experienced to do this stuff.
We already know a lot of STEPS8000 riders who had problems with a broken bluetooth firmware download (via app) and the STEPS system was not able to boot up any more. So these people had to dismount their motor out of the frame and send it to a long journey...
This could have been avoided if they have had a PCE1 interface and would have been experienced with the "directed connection diagnosis" mode of eTube...
That´s why...
So our opinion if somebody is spening thousands of euros to a bike: please get a PCE1 interface too, it is definitely worth the money and you're prepared for worst case scenarios and independant...
